Websites that load fast, convert hard, and rank on AI.
Most websites are themes with logos. A real growth website is engineered against the buyer journey, disciplined for Core Web Vitals, schema-rich for AI discoverability, and rebuilt around conversion — not template aesthetics. I design and develop websites that perform on three axes: speed, ranking, conversion.
What’s broken in most AI website design and development setups.
Most of these gaps don’t look like problems on a dashboard. They look like “normal” until someone with distance asks the right question. The four below are the most common — and the most expensive.
Site looks fine, conversion is silently broken
The design is competent. The conversion rate is 0.4%. Nobody has walked the funnel mobile-first, on a flaky 4G connection, while distracted — which is how most of your buyers actually arrive.
INP failing, you don’t know yet
INP replaced FID as a Core Web Vital. Most sites built before 2024 silently fail it. Google notices. Your bounce rate notices. Your developer hasn’t noticed.
Schema added once, never updated
JSON-LD deployed in 2022 by a previous agency. Half the page types are missing it. AI assistants resolve entities from schema; broken schema = invisible to AI.
Theme bloat eating speed and SEO
Page builder + 14 plugins + 6 trackers + auto-load video. LCP is 6 seconds. Mobile score is 28. Every visit costs you in rank and revenue.
Tell me about your business. I’ll come back within 24 hours (weekdays) to book the call.
No sales theatre. The first call is genuinely useful — you leave with a clear written follow-up, whether or not we end up working together.
Six deliverables. All scoped, all written, all tied to outcomes.
Every engagement starts with a scope document the founder and I both sign off on. No moving goalposts. No “extra scope” conversations halfway through. Below is what’s included in a typical engagement — adjusted per business.
UX architecture
Buyer-journey mapping, page-by-page conversion strategy, friction inventory. Built mobile-first against the actual buyer, not the desktop wireframe.
Design system
Premium, modern, on-brand. Token-based — fonts, colours, spacing, components. So the site stays consistent as it grows.
Conversion-engineered build
WordPress + Astra (or custom stack as needed). Page-builder discipline. Component-based. Optimised for INP, LCP, CLS, TTFB.
AI-search readiness
JSON-LD for every page type. llms.txt configured. Entity strategy applied. Internal linking architected. Schema kept in sync with visible content.
CRO infrastructure
GA4 + sGTM + Consent Mode v2. Heatmaps if relevant. A/B testing harness pre-wired. The measurement layer your conversion programme needs.
Speed + accessibility
Core Web Vitals green on mobile. WCAG 2.2 AA targeted. Lighthouse 90+ on mobile, 95+ desktop. The numbers your CFO and SEO consultant both check.
Three phases. No mystery, no theatre.
-
01
Strategy
UX audit, buyer-journey mapping, conversion priority list. Wireframes for the 5–7 highest-leverage pages before design starts.
-
02
Design + build
Premium design system + component-based build. 6–10 weeks typical. Live staging from week 2. Bi-weekly working sessions, not monthly ‘reveals’.
-
03
Launch + iterate
Migration plan, redirects, monitoring. Post-launch CRO programme starts immediately — a website goes live; it doesn’t go static.
Numbers from real engagements. All clients anonymised.

After landing-system rebuild + checkout-friction kill on a premium D2C tea brand.
On the new build vs 31/100 on the previous theme-driven site.
On 4G mobile, against the 2.5s Core Web Vital threshold.
Every page type (article, FAQ, service, product, person, organisation) wired correctly.
What founders ask before getting in touch.
Do you build on WordPress, Webflow, or custom?
WordPress + Astra is the default — it’s where most founder budgets sit, it has the best AI-content-management tooling, and it gives you long-term ownership without a vendor lock-in. Webflow is supported for design-led projects. Custom Next.js / Astro builds for SaaS marketing sites where the team will maintain it.
Will I need a separate SEO retainer afterwards?
Technical SEO is baked into the build. Ongoing content and citation work is a separate engagement (AI-Led SEO & GEO) — most founders pair the two so the foundation and the ongoing programme compound together.
How long does a build take?
6–10 weeks for a marketing site (8–15 pages). Larger sites (40+ pages, multi-language, custom integrations) run 12–16 weeks. Migration projects depend on the source CMS.
Can you redesign without rebuilding from scratch?
Yes, when it makes sense. Surface-level redesigns on a healthy underlying stack are 3–5 weeks. But if the existing foundation is failing Core Web Vitals or has structural SEO debt, a clean rebuild usually costs less in the medium term.
Do you handle hosting and security?
I’ll recommend the right hosting (typically Cloudways, Kinsta, or WP Engine for WordPress; Vercel for Next.js) and configure security, backups, CDN, and image optimisation. Ongoing maintenance can be retained or handed back to your team.
Stop wasting spend on AI website design and development that nobody is independently QA’ing.
The audit is free. The conversation is direct. If we’re a fit, the engagement is scoped, written, and tied to the outcomes you actually need.
